This chutney has a background sweetness derived from the slowly cooked onions and is a favourite to serve warm with bangers and mash or try it stirred through quiche with feta. Also just at home on a steak sandwich or with a cheese platter.
Seville oranges make the best marmalade because of their slightly sour taste. We do ours as a ‘thick cut’ or 5mm cut. The oranges are sourced from the Hawkesburry region North West of Sydney. It is a lovely light colour with well balanced acidity and a rich zesty orange flavor.
Best with toast and a cup of tea in the morning.
Nagami’s are oval shaped cumquats. They are known for their sweet skins and sour fruit. The marmalade they produce is sublime and a winner with those who like a tart marmalade. Perfect with toast and can be used to make a wonderful glaze to finish cakes or pastries.
